Events & Workshops
Whether it's a five-course meal out in the middle of one of our fields, an inspirational garden and art tour around the twin cities, or a hands-on creative workshop, every event is special to us. And the best part: it's all for you, our patrons.
We invite you to “Gather & Plant!” Mark your calendar and join us for our Tangletown events and workshops. They will inspire new and exciting memories.
Gather & Plant: Kokedama - Saturday 8/8
Saturday 8/8, 10 am and Noon
Join our Tangletown Designers for a special class where you will create your very own Kokedama, a Japanese word that simply translated, means “moss ball.” These botanical bases made of moss and soil serve as a home for a unique tropical plant or succulent of your choosing, and work wonderfully as hanging plants or decoratively placed on a surface. In the workshop you will learn all about the art and origins of Kokedama, and their care.
Class occupancy is limited to 8 people max and classes will be held outdoors at Wise Acre Eatery with proper social distancing and sanitation standards per CDC and MDH guidelines. Masks required. Advanced registration required. In the event of inclement weather classes will be held on Sunday 8/9.
Gather & Plant: Macrame - Saturday 8/22
Saturday 8/22, 10 am and Noon
Macrame plant hangers are a delightful addition to any home. Hang them from the ceiling, porch, balcony... you name it! Join us to learn the basics of hand-knotting with Tangletown Staff and leave with your own ready-to-hang plant hanger. Workshop fee includes instruction, materials, and terra cotta planter. Plants sold separately.

Wise Acre Supper on the Farm
Based on the uncertainty of COVID-19, we have made the decision to take a brief intermission from our Farm Supper in 2020 with full plans to resume summer of 2021. This is such a beloved and magical event so it is tough news to share, but our number one priority is to keep everyone safe and healthy.
If you have questions about the postponement please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
We are so appreciative to everyone for your interest and continued support - let's continue to take care of each other. Until we can welcome you to the Farm, we look forward to seeing you again soon as a guest at Tangletown Gardens and Wise Acre.
For 2021 - Save the Date! Saturday, August 21st
Our Supper on the Farm is by far our most magical event of the year. It is an evening full of festivities including a grand tour of the farm in which you can see where 80 - 95% of the food at Wise Acre is grown as well as meet our beautiful heard of Scottish Highland Cattle, turkeys, ducks, heritage bread pigs and chickens. Following our tour you are invited to sit down to a beautiful multi-course farm-inspired dinner prepared by the talented culinary staff from Wise Acre Eatery. Every farm supper offers something new, but is always pure magic. Come experience the very best of what we have to offer in the idyllic setting of our Farm.
Friends & Family Day at the Farm - To Return June 2021
Enjoy a picnic lunch from Wise Acre Eatery at our Tangletown Gardens Farm, 11407 County Rd 9, Plato, MN (just 40 miles west of Minneapolis). Our farm is where 95% of the food served at Wise Acre Eatery comes from and 75% of the plants offered at Tangletown Gardens are grown.
Farm guests (especially ages 3 – 10) can become farm-hands in our interactive Little Farm Hand Tour. Kids will feed the baby chickens, feed the koi fish in our aquaponics system, meet our Scottish Highland cows, see our Heritage Hogs, pasture raised Turkeys, Ducks, and Chickens.
Join farmer Dean on a hayride to find out how up to 95% of the food served at Wise Acre Eatery comes from the farm, even in the cold winter months. Tour the fields and indoor greenhouses and learn how we are able to grow all of our plants and produce without any chemical pesticides. Farm guests will also be able to pick-up herbs, plants, flowers, meats and more.
*Stay tuned for more details and ticket availability.
